We are currently seeking a skilled Machinery Engineer/Specialist to join our team in Akwa Ibom and Lagos. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of ₦750,000 - ₦1,000,000 per month and provides an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the oil and gas sector.

The Machinery Engineer/Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing operations and maintenance projects, ensuring that all engineering work aligns with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Manage Operations & Maintenance minor projects in support of Field Maintenance Services.
  • Establish and maintain project objectives and strategies.
  • Ensure subject matter expert review of project design considerations.
  • Lead Engineering and constructability reviews (Hazop and IFC drawings).
  • Oversee OEM service representatives, vendor performance, and reporting.
  • Provide engineering support for site construction activities.
  • Coordinate project handover to operations, closeout, and documentation.
  • Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
  • Communicate and resolve various issues among the engineering team and contractors.
  • Evaluate and comment on work performed by contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Identify and assess deviations to Contract Technical Specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain Deviation Control Log.
  • Steward discipline engineering queries from contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Keep Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed of progress, deviations, and concerns.
  • Participate in discipline engineering reviews at contractor's and subcontractor's locations.
  • Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
  • Support internal engineering general interest or Global Practice initiatives as requested.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas production operations and facilities.
  • General knowledge of centrifugal compressors, turbines, and pumps.
  • General knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts.
  • 10+ years of closely related professional experience.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Fluent in English, especially for technical and business communications.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in machinery operations and maintenance engineering.
  • Specific experience with centrifugal and gas turbine machinery.
  • Experience in maintenance and reliability concepts and applications.
  • Experience in machinery operations surveillance.
  • Experience in machinery commissioning and startups.
  • Experience in failure analysis and general troubleshooting practices.
  • Working knowledge of inspection and surveillance tools (PI, vibration tools, boroscope).

Skills

  • Strong technical ability.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas production operations and facilities.
  • Understanding of maintenance and reliability concepts.
  • Experience with centrifugal compressors, turbines, and pumps.
