NRC's presence in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, is critical for our efforts in the North-East and North Central regions. We focus on providing equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees. Our operational reach includes sub-office structures in Dikwa, Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka, and Gwoza.

We are seeking a passionate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer to join our team in Maiduguri. This role involves assisting with the implementation of MEL activities, supporting data collection, analyzing raw data, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our programs.

Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Support data collection and the implementation of quality checklists across various activities (WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods, Education, Shelter, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance, Camp management).
  • Supervise enumerators when needed.
  • Analyze raw data from assessments and quality checklists, and report findings.
  • Provide direct support to the technical M&E officer.
  • Aid the technical M&E officer and Area Manager in improving programming and organizational learning.
  • Participate in documenting lessons learned from projects.
  • Organize monthly data reviews and compile relevant monthly reports.
  • Coordinate with Core Competencies focal persons for targeting, registration, and selection of beneficiaries.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in an international NGO, preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting.
  • Experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Education Requirements

  • BSc in Information Management, Statistics, or other social science fields.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an international NGO.
  • Experience with principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Skills

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Stata, Nvivo, CAPI systems (Kobo/ODK/CSpro), and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • • Knowledge of NRC's operations is advantageous.

Salary

NGN 400,000 - 500,000 per-Month.
