Médecins du Monde (MdM) is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical care to vulnerable populations around the world. The organization aims to stimulate voluntary commitment from healthcare providers and experts from other fields, enlisting all competent support required to achieve its projects. MdM has been recognized globally for its Harm Reduction efforts and has been active in Kenya since 2013 to strengthen local capacities and serve as a model project.
MdM is currently seeking a Program Manager for its integrated health program in Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria. The Program Manager will oversee the implementation, follow-up, and overall supervision of the health program in alignment with MdM's standards and donor requirements. This role requires significant experience in public health, project management, and a strong ability to lead and motivate a team under challenging conditions.
Job Detail
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement all MdM activities in Katsina according to proposals, donor guidelines, and MdM standards.
- Contribute to needs assessments and context analysis for the Katsina region.
- Support and implement health surveillance systems, providing regular feedback on the health situation.
- Supervise health facilities (MOH and MdM) considering their needs in assets, equipment, supply chain, and operations.
- Monitor ongoing projects, supervise data collection processes, and analyze medical data monthly.
- Manage and monitor the program budget, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
- Develop the health strategy for MdM in Katsina, including sustainability and adaptability to needs.
- Ensure quality and consistency of program activities according to MdM policies and standards.
- Work in close collaboration with the technical program unit in Abuja and local partners.
- Ensure implementation of recommendations from Technical Advisors and follow-up with an action plan.
- Manage and support medical supervisors and teams, ensuring all staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Plan and implement capacity-building training for MdM/MoH medical staff.
- Establish and supervise the procurement and delivery of medical supplies and drugs to clinics.
- Contribute to writing proposals and donor reports.
- Represent MdM in relevant forums and medical meetings in Katsina, ensuring good relationships with stakeholders.
- Maintain transparent and proactive communication with MdM's hierarchy and HQ.

Qualifications
- Medical Doctor, Nurse, Midwife, or relevant experience in public health and project management.
- Significant experience in similar positions.

- Experience in outbreak management and emergency response.
- Ability to analyze epidemiological contexts and propose interventions.
