Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate overall programme design and ensure work plans and activities are formulated, implemented, and monitored.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Maiduguri level programme towards agreed results, including timely and effective grant and financial management.
  • Provide support and coordinate with various sections in Maiduguri for programme convergence and resilience integration across the programme cycle.
  • Co-lead with WFP the six-month Maiduguri level inception phase to finalize the JP design through an inclusive, participatory approach.
  • Provide overall technical direction and support for UNICEF's northeast Nigeria approach to the Durable Solutions Strategy.
  • Support the design and steering of area-level Solutions-oriented programming.
  • Oversee and support Maiduguri-level baseline/endline development, knowledge management, M&E, and lessons learned.
  • Strengthen capacity and learning for UNICEF in programming for social cohesion, resilience, and the triple nexus.
  • Coordinate provision of cross-sectoral inputs to donor reports and other documentation.
  • Promote and participate in joint UN and Government-led assessments, analysis, and evidence-building on challenges.
  • Coordinate closely with other UN agencies, development partners, and government counterparts.
  • Represent UNICEF Maiduguri in JP coordination and other governance systems and networks.
  • Manage JP-related partnership development and support overall project documents management.
  • Lead Maiduguri-level JP visibility, communication, and donor visits.
  • Provide updates and technical guidance to the UNICEF Maiduguri Chief of Field Office and Emergency Unit.

Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in international development, international relations, peacebuilding, political science, social sciences, public administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of professional work experience at international levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration.
  • Specialized training/experience in resilience/nexus/Durable Solutions programme management highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is an asset.
  • Experience working in developing countries, particularly in emergency/humanitarian settings.
  • Results-based management skills.
  • Knowledge of development and humanitarian issues, strategies, and programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, coordination capabilities, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage large-budget multisector programmes and lead diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated ability in donor reporting.
  • Ability to multitask and deliver against work plans and tight deadlines.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements
