The key purpose of this role is to lead the shift-based team/s in the execution of the production plan to meet required performance criteria. The Packaging Team Leader will ensure the optimization of production performance and processes, manage human resources effectively, and perform essential administrative duties. This role demands strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Detail
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with safety, health, and environmental procedures and legislation.
- Manage shift in accordance with VPO tools and principles.
- Achieve production plan within the allowed costs and co-ordinate scheduled maintenance and autonomous operations.
- Monitor and co-ordinate production processes within budget and interpret and implement the production plan for the shift.
- Build and foster relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Facilitate effective team dynamics and implement performance management and OPR processes.
- Communicate effectively in the workplace.
- Ensure application of admin systems and procedures.
- Administer conditions of employment for team members.
- Contribute to self and team development.
- Prepare and control budgets and manage financial performance.
- Prepare and manage budgets and monthly financial Short Interval Control.
- Develop employees and ensure a healthy industrial relations climate.
- Manage and apply people policies and practices.

Qualifications
- BSc Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Completed Traineeship.
- Completion of an InBev packaging Traineeship.
- Min - SAP where applicable and Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO).
- Experience in a packaging process environment.
- Supervisory level experience.
- Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment.
- Computer literate, analytical thinker.
- Leadership capability.
Education Requirements
- BSc Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment.
