We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist Volunteer to join our team in Lekki, Lagos. This volunteer role is pivotal in supporting our mission by providing therapeutic services to individuals facing physical, mental, and emotional challenges. The goal is to help clients develop, recover, and enhance the skills required for daily living and working.
As an Occupational Therapist Volunteer at FriendnPal, you will conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' needs and abilities. Based on these assessments, you will develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving clients' physical, cognitive, and social abilities. You will implement therapeutic activities and exercises, provide training in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology, and educate clients and their families on techniques to improve daily functioning.
In addition to direct client support, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, prepare reports on clients' progress and treatment outcomes, and work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers. Your role will also involve participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences, organizing and conducting community workshops, and promoting awareness about occupational therapy and its benefits.
