As the only multi-sport and total sports and leadership development organization in Lagos, City Sports Group aims to nurture, impact, and prepare young people to succeed both on and off the pitch. The organization's philosophy is that sports extend beyond being a mere unifying factor, recreational activity, or professional career; it is a vital part of shaping future leaders by instilling the values of sports leadership from a young age.
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate House Master to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the welfare and development of student-athletes residing in our residency house. The House Master will ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes both academic and athletic success. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring young individuals.
The House Master will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the residency house, including overseeing meal schedules, maintaining cleanliness, and coordinating with other staff members. They will also provide emotional support and counseling to students, monitor academic progress, and ensure that athletic training schedules are well-coordinated with academic commitments. Additionally, the House Master will act as a liaison between students, parents, and school staff, ensuring effective communication and a holistic approach to student development.
Job Detail
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of student-athletes living in the residency house.
- Monitor and address any behavioral or social issues among the students.
- Provide emotional support and counseling when needed.
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters teamwork and camaraderie.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the residency house.
- Assign and manage dormitory rooms, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance.
- Oversee the meal schedule and nutritional needs of the student-athletes.
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and well-organized daily routine.
- Encourage and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they balance their studies with their athletic commitments.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support students who may require extra assistance.
- Implement study hours or study groups to facilitate academic success.
- Collaborate with coaches and trainers to ensure athletes' training and competition schedules are well-coordinated with their academic commitments.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to athletes in their athletic pursuits.
- Monitor and address any injuries or health concerns that may arise.
- Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians to update them on students' progress and well-being.
- Communicate with school administrators, coaches, and teachers to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Develop and implement emergency procedures for the residency house.
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all necessary safety equipment is available and functional.
- Set a positive example for student-athletes in terms of behavior, discipline, and dedication.
- Encourage and instill good values, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior in students.
- Keep records of student-athletes' attendance, behavior, and academic progress.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback to school administrators on the residency house's activities and achievements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree qualification.
