Mofemart, an online wholesale supermarket located in Ikorodu, Lagos, specializes in providing groceries at competitive rates with special offers for long-term supply partners. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for assessing products, services, and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are of sufficient quality and cost-efficient.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills. The Procurement Officer will conduct product research, source new suppliers, perform inventory inspections, and coordinate with the delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, a keen eye for market trends, and the ability to make decisions in high-stress environments.

Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
  • Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
  • Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
  • Conducting market research to keep abreast of emerging trends and business opportunities.
  • Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately.
  • Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and received stock.
  • Coordinating with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
  • Establishing professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.
