We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Kaduna, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in finance and accounting, particularly within the Polymer Industry, and will be responsible for developing, planning, and directing finance and accounts objectives. The Finance Manager will streamline accounting processes, prepare financial statements, and ensure the maintenance of financial records. Additionally, this role requires the individual to act as a custodian of inventory and provide financial advice to support key business decisions.

Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for developing, planning, and directing finance and accounts objectives.
  • Streamline accounting processes and select, orient, train, coach, and assign employees.
  • Communicate job expectations; monitor, appraise, and review employee performance.
  • Contribute accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Prepare and complete action plans and customer-service standards.
  • Complete audits and implement changes as necessary.
  • Oversee or generate monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Act as custodian of inventory by working closely with the Commercial Manager and Logistics Manager.
  • Partner with the Head of Production to generate Monthly Techno-Commercial MIS along with all KPIs.
  • Ensure general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules are accurately maintained.
  • Maintain procedures to establish tight control over cash transactions.
  • Ensure timely follow-up of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Evaluate and implement internal and external audit recommendations, providing feedback to management on results.
  • Exercise budgetary controls, accounting/physical controls, and credit control as per laid down procedures and asset management.
  • Maintain an effective involvement and understanding of the business to contribute to key business decisions through financial advice and expertise.
  • Provide support, service, and advice in all finance matters to the company's management.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of work experience with a minimum of 6-8 years in the Polymer Industry.
  • Knowledge of the techno-commercial downstream industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Good accounting background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to understand and use computerized spreadsheet packages.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting

Experience Requirements

  • 10-15 years of work experience with a minimum of 6-8 years in the Polymer Industry
