ColdHubs Limited is a social enterprise committed to addressing food spoilage issues for smallholder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers. We design, install, commission, and operate 100% solar-powered walk-in cold rooms, with capacities ranging from 3 tons to 100 tons. These cold rooms are strategically located in farm clusters, fresh produce aggregation centers, and outdoor food markets, enabling the preservation of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable foods for up to 21 days, compared to the usual 2 days. By providing reliable cold storage solutions, ColdHubs aims to combat food spoilage, a challenge faced by 470 million smallholder farmers worldwide due to inadequate cold storage facilities.
In addition to our cold rooms, ColdHubs is expanding its operations to include refrigerated transportation services, offering an end-to-end cold chain solution. We also produce returnable plastic crates to further reduce food spoilage by ensuring efficient handling and transportation of fresh produce.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Refrigeration Technical Officer to join our team in Owerri, Nigeria. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our solar-powered walk-in cold rooms. You will collaborate closely with our engineering and operations team to ensure the seamless operation of our facilities.

Responsibilities
- Install solar-powered walk-in cold rooms
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems
- Maintain and service cold storage facilities
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize cold room operations
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance
- Provide technical support and training to staff
- Document maintenance and repair activities
- Work independently and as part of a team
