We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Abuja, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for our manufacturing division. This role involves conducting detailed cost analysis, managing inventory accounting processes, assisting in budget and forecast development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including GAAP standards and tax regulations.
The Senior Accountant will continuously assess accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, will be essential to support operational decision-making and drive business results. The role also includes conducting financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, coordinating with internal and external auditors, and providing guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Job Detail
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the manufacturing division.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement within the manufacturing process.
- Manage inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts.
- Assist in the development of manufacturing budgets and forecasts, providing insights into variances and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including GAAP standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Continuously assess accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to support operational decision-making and drive business results.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and capital projects within the manufacturing division.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings related to manufacturing operations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff within the manufacturing division, fostering their professional development and growth.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.

- Experience in manufacturing accounting is an advantage.
- Experience with cost analysis and inventory management is preferred.
