Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a local non-governmental organization incorporated in Nigeria in 2009 with registration number CAC/NO/33391 and headquarters in Nigeria’s federal capital territory, Abuja. AHNi is dedicated to promoting socioeconomic development by supporting a broad range of global health interventions, education, research, and economic initiatives in Nigeria. As an allied organization to Family Health International (FHI360), AHNi shares the common goal of advancing the collective well-being of the communities it serves.

In collaboration with government agencies, international and local partners, AHNi focuses on combating HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria; expanding access to reproductive health; strengthening healthcare delivery systems; increasing food security; and improving education for children. With its head office in Abuja and state offices across five geo-political zones of Nigeria, AHNi has developed extensive experience and competency in health, education, nutrition/livelihoods, and protection projects. These projects are funded by major donors such as USAID, CDC, Global Fund, UNICEF, FCDO, TAConnect, UNHCR, and UNFPA.

The Technical Officer will provide technical and programmatic support to implement high-quality care and support activities, focusing primarily on the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS (PMTCT), Reproductive Health/Family Planning (RH/FP), TB, and integrated medical services at the state level. The successful candidate will coordinate the effective implementation of the Cervical Cancer prevention program in the state, increasing awareness of cervical cancer among high-risk individuals in the facility and community.

The Technical Officer will provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and ensure appropriate support for the development and implementation of program activities related to cervical cancer prevention. Responsibilities will include supporting the planning, coordination, and supervision of cervical cancer screening activities in ACE-supported facilities. Additionally, the Technical Officer will facilitate training for healthcare providers on cervical cancer prevention and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), and build the capacity of health facility staff and service providers in documentation, data collection, and analysis.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • MB.BS / MD / PhD or similar degree in clinical care.
  • Sound understanding of HIV/AIDS and provision of PMTCT and ART, including TB in resource-constrained settings.
  • MPH or postgraduate degree in a related field is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs/CBOs is highly desirable.

Education Requirements

  • MB.BS / MD / PhD or similar degree.
  • MPH or postgraduate degree in a related field (advantageous).

Experience Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in clinical care.
  • Experience with HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, ART, and TB in resource-constrained settings.
