The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international humanitarian organization, is seeking a Chief of Party (CoP) for its operations in Maiduguri, Borno state, Nigeria. DRC has been actively involved in Nigeria since 2015, delivering critical assistance to internally displaced persons and vulnerable populations across the Northeast region. The CoP will oversee the implementation of a multi-year humanitarian intervention aimed at providing life-saving assistance and protection to displacement-affected communities in partnership with international and national NGOs. Reporting to the Country Director, the CoP will be responsible for ensuring project compliance, managing consortium partners, coordinating with stakeholders, and representing the consortium at national and local levels. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in partner coordination, humanitarian project management, and donor compliance within complex settings.

Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and coordination of a multi-year humanitarian intervention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for donors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts and donor requirements.
  • Manage consortium partners and foster effective collaboration.
  • Oversee financial management and budget tracking.
  • Develop and implement project work plans and strategies for sustainability.
  • Ensure adherence to DRC program quality standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in political science, international development, economics, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in program cycle management and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL).

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is desirable.
