Currently, the IRC seeks a Client Responsiveness and Accountability Support Intern in Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria, to support its mission of providing emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by conflict, persecution, and natural disasters.

The Client Responsiveness and Accountability Support Intern will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the IRC’s services meet the needs of the communities it serves. The intern will manage feedback and complaints from these communities, ensuring they are appropriately addressed and relayed to relevant teams. Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Collect feedback from communities and report to the concerned body.
  • Answer toll-free calls and record complaints/feedback using prepared templates.
  • Uphold and respect the confidentiality of all received information.
  • Regularly update oneself on IRC projects to understand thematic and geographic areas of operation.
  • Brief staff and others on IRC Nigeria Community Accountability Mechanisms.
  • Stay informed on new IRC policies and procedures, particularly regarding accountability.
  • Understand and apply Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) and Core Humanitarian Standards.
  • Respond to information requests or answer questions within the mandate specified in the IRC Nigeria Community Accountability Mechanism document.
  • Summarize information and report to the concerned body as per the Community Accountability Mechanism document.
  • Share relevant information for new project designs when approved by the supervisor.
  • Clarify questions reported to the Complain/Feedback Analysis Committee when needed.
  • Display excellent communication skills and experience in report writing.
  • Make preliminary analysis and share summaries with respective sector concerned staff.
  • Participate in lesson-sharing meetings, bazaars, and workshops.
  • Systematically and securely document reports.
  • Manage and maintain hotline services and other Accountability Mechanisms.
  • Ensure the monthly subscription for hotline services is paid on time.
  • Maintain telephone apparatuses and ensure batteries are fully charged.
  • Report technical problems to the supervisor promptly and follow up on maintenance.
  • Design strategies to ensure all target communities have access to hotline services and other Feedback Mechanisms.
  • Manage suggestion boxes for feedback collection.
  • Devise and implement effective communication strategies for Accountability Mechanisms to all project stakeholders.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
