The Director of Alumni Relations is a pivotal role within AUN, responsible for fostering relationships with alumni and ensuring they remain engaged with the university. This position involves developing and maintaining a database of alumni, establishing regional and national alumni chapters, and planning and implementing special events and projects that promote alumni engagement and support for the university's initiatives. The Director will collaborate with various university departments to provide alumni data for statistical analysis, generate alumni news for publications, and support the Alumni Association in philanthropic efforts.

Key responsibilities include maintaining an up-to-date alumni database, facilitating positive relationships between alumni and the university, and creating a multi-year plan for the alumni relations program. The Director will also manage the alumni webpage and social media presence, ensuring that alumni activities, engagements, and accomplishments are effectively communicated. Job Detail

Responsibilities

  • Develop a database of AUN alumni and continuously communicate with them in various spheres of human endeavor.
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Establish regional and national alumni chapters.
  • Plan and implement alumni special events, projects, and fundraising activities on and off-campus.
  • Communicate and organize mutually rewarding engagements and relationships between AUN alumni and the University.
  • Generate alumni news that celebrates alumni stories, successes, and achievements for various publications.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research to provide alumni data for statistical analysis.
  • Partner with the AUN Alumni Association to garner philanthropic gifts to support the University's initiatives.
  • Maintain and keep up-to-date University and graduate news via the annual magazine, regular e-newsletters, and other publications.
  • Support the AUN Alumni community in reaching out to the University for vital information, documents, or guidance/assistance.
  • Ensure that AUN graduate community enjoys a rewarding involvement with the University via social media, networking, and advocacy.
  • Provide content for the alumni webpage in collaboration with relevant offices.
  • Maintain a robust social media presence about AUN alumni activities, engagements, accomplishments, and commitments.
  • Create a multi-year plan for the alumni relations program that results in growth through greater alumni program involvement.
  • Plan, implement, and promote alumni program involvement that supports AUN's strategic plan and fundraising goals.
  • Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in alumni events and programs.
  • Facilitate positive, purposeful relationships between alumni and members of the AUN community.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
