Job Description

Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI) is seeking candidates for a position in Deputy Chief of Party based in Sokoto, Sokoto State. If you are interested in this opportunity, please review the details below.

The Diamond Development Initiative (DDI) works to transform artisanal and small-scale diamond mining into an economically viable, socially and environmentally responsible activity. It provides miners with access to the opportunities, information, and tools they need to work with dignity as valued actors in the responsible supply chain and as contributors to their community’s development. DDI looks forward to the day when artisanal miners can work safely, freely, and legally; when governments benefit from the sale and export of their country’s mineral resources; and when conscientious consumers can be assured that their jewelry purchase is not only conflict-free, but has also been produced and sourced responsibly, contributing to improving the working and living conditions of the people at its source.

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the Chief of Party in meeting Activity objectives and deliverables and in providing overall leadership in technical, administrative, operational, and management aspects. The DCOP will support relationship management with USAID/Nigeria, the Government of Nigeria, partners, and external stakeholders. The DCOP will manage key aspects of the development, implementation, and consolidation of the Nigeria Resilience Activity.
