We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components for medical devices and equipment.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing overall direction for quality management system (QMS) activities within the engineering function, ensuring uninterrupted engineering services for production, and designing and developing mechanical components and systems for medical devices, equipment, and instrumentation. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product design and development.

This role requires proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting, a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, and experience with design analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics). Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to medical devices (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations) is essential. The candidate must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, effective communication and collaboration abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

The Engineering Manager will also be responsible for ensuring efficient generation and distribution of utilities such as electricity, water, steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, and cooling water, and preparing and implementing effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs. This role involves carrying out weekly maintenance of equipment as per the preventive maintenance plan, ensuring minimum equipment breakdown for smooth production operations, preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and ensuring prompt attendance to alerts from all departments and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The ideal candidate will have a commitment to continuous learning and professional development and the ability to train staff as per the plan and review the same.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction for QMS activity within the engineering function.
  • Ensure uninterrupted engineering services for production.
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for medical devices, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to achieve project goals.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and testing to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation activities.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering and the medical device industry.
  • Ensure efficient generation and distribution of utilities such as electricity, water, steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, and cooling water.
  • Ensure preparation and implementation of effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Carry out weekly maintenance of equipment as per the preventive maintenance plan.
  • Ensure minimum equipment breakdown for smooth production operations.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
